Individual dissemination & Outreach activities

Prof. Fabio Biscarini has given lectures on nanotechnologies for scientific high schools “A. Righi” (2011, 2012), “Da Vinci” Casalecchio di Reno (2011), “ San Luigi” (2011), “R.  Benzi” (2011), “ L. Galvani” (2012); he has given seminars in Nanotechnologies at Istituto Enrico Fermi Modena (27/03) and ITC Benzi Cesena (01/04) for the event “Un Pozzo di Scienza” organised by Fondazione Marino Golinelli (2009). He has taught a course of Nanotechnologies at the Liceo Scientifico “A. Righi” Bologna (20 hours) in the frame of the project “Open Schools” (April-May 2008). He has organised a Summer research stage in nanotechnology 5 high-school students from Liceo Scientifico “A. Righi” Bologna and Liceo Scientifico “L. Ariosto” Reggio Emilia, June-July 2003, and one for two students of Liceo Scientifico “A. Righi” Bologna in June 2008; repeated in 2011 for 9 students of Liceo Righi and Da Vinci. He contributed regularly to the CNR initiative “Open Doors on Research” from 1998 to 2013. He gives interviews to newspapers, magazines, radio and TV. He was in the panel of experts of the science dissemination web-site Ulisse of SISSA Trieste from 2005. He has been scientific consultant of the exhibition “Dieciallamenonove (10^-9)” POST (Perugia Officina Scienza e Tecnologia) 11 March 2006-11 March 2007, and at CNR Bologna, 14-28 May 2008. He has contributed to organize the exhibition on “Linus Pauling” at CNR Bologna, 10-28 November 2003.

 

Dr. Michele Di Lauro is a member of the “Knowing Chemistry” committee of the University of Bologna (2010 – present): the committee organizes 10 shows per year centered on the informal teaching of general , inorganic and organic Chemistry to school children; he collaborates with the “Science Festival of Genova” (2011-present) as laboratory designer, he authored and presented there four original interactive laboratories for the general audience: “Chimicronos” (2012), “Il bello della Chimica” (2013), “Hai tempo per la Chimica?” (2014) and “BalanChem” (2015). He is involved in “UNIMORE Orienta” (2014-present) annual meetings with high-school students to present the teaching activity of the Life Science Department. He has been scientific consultant for the development of “Alchemist Matter – DIY Science Experiments for Kids” and “Cooking Material”, by Laurence Humier.
