LEO Lab was pleased to welcome Professor Mark Geoghegan from Newcastle University, UK, for a four-day scientific visit dedicated to research collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Professor Geoghegan joined Newcastle University in 2019, after serving as Professor of Soft Matter Physics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Sheffield. His research covers several areas of soft matter and materials science, including polymer films, polymer diffusion, organic electronics, biomaterials, adhesion, and soft nanotechnology. He is also the co-author, with Professor Georges Hadziioannou of the University of Bordeaux, of a textbook on polymer electronics.
During his stay, Professor Geoghegan worked closely with the LEO Lab team, carrying out a series of joint experiments on innovative materials.
As part of the visit, on 15 July at 2:30 p.m., Professor Geoghegan delivered a seminar at UNIMORE entitled: “Reversible Adhesion in Synthetic and Biological Systems”.
