On 25 September, the LEO Laboratory took part in the 2026 European Researchers’ Night with public-engagement activities in Modena and Mantua.
In Modena, the activity “The Potential of Molecules: Applications of Organic Electronics” introduced visitors to flexible organic circuits, devices that operate in water, electrochromic materials and emerging sensing applications.
In Mantua, “Polymers in Action: They Conduct, Self-Heal and Intertwine” offered hands-on experiments illustrating how polymer structure determines electrical, mechanical and responsive properties. Visitors explored conductive and colour-changing polymers, as well as ionic, covalent and dynamic crosslinking.
LEO’s outreach activities also extended beyond Italy. PhD student Mattia Bosi participated in the Agri Innovation Expo 2026 at the Agricultural University of Athens, contributing to the communication of scientific research and innovation to a broad international audience.
Through these initiatives, LEO continues to promote dialogue between researchers and society, making organic electronics, advanced materials and emerging technologies accessible to the wider public.
